SHAH ALAM, Dec 27 — Several flood victims are thankful that many individuals are willing to come and help clean their homes, which were badly hit by the floods.
Maznah Mahamud, 37, said if she had to rely solely on her strength and that of her husband’s, the cleaning work could not be completed in a short period of time.

“I have four children but all are still young, the eldest is 16 and the youngest is three. It is a relief to know we are being helped from the outside.
"I want to thank the volunteers from Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Amal Wanita Selangor (Pekawanis), Selangor Team, and others for coming to our house today," she said.
Commenting on the RM1,000 flood aid from the Selangor government, Maznah is similarly grateful, adding she wishes to buy a refrigerator using the cash aid.
“A refrigerator is very important, ours was damaged by the floods. So thank you to the state government,” she said.

Meanwhile, Siti Saidah M Sarvani, 43, also appreciates the RM1,000 cash aid which she said can help cover her post-flood expenses.
“Thank you also to the team who came to help clean our house today (December 26). We received non-stop assistance after the disaster,” she said.
Yesterday, Pekawanis, Team Selangor, and the Persatuan Suri dan Anggota Wanita Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia (Puspanita) Shah Alam cleaned up six houses in Kampung Lombong here.
