KDEBWM: Disruption of garbage collection in flooded areas, services to slowly resume

SHAH ALAM, Dec 20 — Domestic and bulk garbage collection services in several areas of Klang, Shah Alam, Kajang, Ampang Jaya, and Kuala Langat will be temporarily disrupted, due to the recent floods.

KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) director Ramli Mohd Tahir this was caused by the road closure in several areas and damages to some of its lorries by the flood.

“Several roads to the landfill are still closed, causing the waste disposal process to experience difficulties and delays.

“We apologise for this and hope the people affected by this disaster continue to persevere and be patient in the face of this difficulty,” he said in a statement issued today.

Ramli requested residents place domestic waste in bins or rubbish bins, while bulk rubbish can be placed in front of their respective homes, or in the Roll-On-Roll-Off (RORO) bins provided.

He said the collection work will be gradually carried out, which may take some time to complete.

“KDEBWM will continue to provide the best services for the people in Selangor, and will continue to work together to assist the state government and local authorities in the flood recovery process, “ he said.

Any enquiries can be made at KDEBWM’s Local Complaints Center at 019-375 9592 and 019-375 3980, or via Whatsapp at019-274 2824.
