KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 — Malaysia today reported 97.8 per cent or 3,428 cases out of the 3,504 new Covid-19 cases in categories one and two, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said 2.2 per cent or 76 new infections were in categories three, four and five.
Dr Noor Hisham in a statement today said 408 cases were treated in intensive care units (ICU) while 206 cases required respiratory assistance.
“There were 4,401 recoveries today, bringing the cumulative recovered cases to 2,606,309," he said.
He said six new clusters were identified, taking the total active clusters to 246 from an overall total of 6,043.
Apart from that, the infectivity rate (Rt) as of Dec 12 according to states, showed Melaka recording the highest Rt at 1.02 followed by Negeri Sembilan and Penang at 1.01 and Pahang (1.00).
