SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — A total of 1,048 applications were approved under the Selangor Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Digitalisation Matching Grant, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this has surpassed the initial target of 1,000 applications among SMEs.

“As of November 10, the allocation has been fully used up,” he said during the tabling of the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022) here, today.

The state government through the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) allocated 50 per cent of the matching grant, or a maximum of RM5,000, to SMEs for them to subscribe to digital services providers.

The grant, launched in April 2021 during the movement control order, played a crucial role in encouraging SMEs to take the first step in digitalising their businesses.

A total of RM5 million had been channelled to cover five areas of digitalisation, namely cloud accounting, e-payment system, human resource management and payroll, digital marketing and e-commerce system.
