SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — Online payment through the eSemakan and eBayaran portals has contributed 30 per cent or RM104 million of the total quit rent and parcel rent collection in Selangor, as of May 31.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the payment portals are initiatives carried out by the state government to facilitate land tax payments.
“These portals made it easy for the people as they are not required to physically be at the payment counter anymore, they can pay land tax at any time,” he said during the tabling of the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022), here today.
Amirudin added the portals are enhanced with business-to-business (B2B) features using the Financial Process Exchange (FPX) and provide users with the option to print out their receipts.
“Other available options include the access to quit rent and parcel rent bills. We have also seen an increasing trend of payment via portals.
“According to the payment methods report, a total of 390,194 transactions have been recorded for online payment, as of May 31 this year,” he said.
