KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 — Selangor will continue to offer the best value proposition as an ideal home for businesses penetrating beyond Malaysia and into the Asean market.
State executive councillor for trade and investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the state is always ready to support cross-border trade and economic cooperation.
“That is why premier events like the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) and the Selangor Asean Business Conference (SABC) are so important.
“Our vision is to open new paths and opportunities to everyone, with a clear intention of helping the Asean region usher in an era where Asean is a strong economic bloc, per the aspirations of the AEC (Asean Economic Community) Blueprint 2025,” he said when delivering his speech during the launch of the SABC 2021 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, here today.
Teng added that as an Asean key founding partner, Malaysia is strongly committed to realising the vision.
“As the most economically developed state in the country, Selangor will continue to engage and collaborate with all stakeholders, holding on to our philosophy of ‘shared prosperity’.”
SABC 2021 began its conference today with the theme of “Sustaining Growth within Asean through Innovation”.
This year, the fifth edition of the conference is conducted via a Webinar Series and a full day hybrid conference.
