BANGI, July 11 — Another three vaccination centres (PPV) will be opened in Selangor from tomorrow, which would be able to administer between 3,000 to 5,000 Covid-19 shots in a day.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the locations of the PPVs will be at Wyndham Hotel in Klang, Dewan Tun Abdul Razak in Sabak Bernam Bukit Beruntung Golf & Country Club in Hulu Selangor.
“The opening of the PPV would be able to help Selangor reach its target of delivering 135,000 doses of vaccine in a day. At present, the daily vaccination rate in the state is 92,000.
“We would like to remind those who are involved in this operation to work towards achieving the target,” said Amirudin after a visit to the Bangi Avenue Convention Centre (BACC) vaccination centre, here yesterday.
Meanwhile, BACC PVV manager Dr Mahani Pardan said a total of 18,000 individuals have received their vaccines from the centre since it began operations on July 5.
“We are fully utilising the space we have at the convention centre and a total of 135 officers and 50 others are facilitating the operations daily,” he said.
Some 22 locations across Selangor are operating as vaccination centres under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax), which was introduced on June 30.
The move by the state administration was initiated to achieve the vaccination target of 80 per cent among the adult population in Selangor by October by ramping up the vaccination rate to 135,000 in July and 165,000 doses in August.
