SHAH ALAM, June 11 — The health status of Covid-19 category one and two patients who are supplied with home assessment tools by the Selangor government will be monitored daily, says state executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.

She said trained volunteers would contact the home quarantined patients to find out their daily condition and provide assistance in the event of an unforeseen situation.

Dr Siti Mariah said apart from that, patients will also need to fill in the enquiry form in the state’s SELangkah mobile application.

“A pulse oximeter that measures one’s oxygen saturation level is supplied in the kit. Usually, if the oxygen level reading is around 96 to 100 per cent, it means that the patient's condition is good, if otherwise, a follow-up action needs to be taken,” she said.

Dr Siti Mariah announced this during Media Selangor’s Bual Bicara talk show titled ‘The Best Step to Speed Up Immunisation Process in Selangor’ that was aired live on Facebook.

Under the Kita Selangor 2.0 stimulus package, a total of RM1.25 million is allocated to distribute food baskets and home assessment tools to Covid-19 patients detected through free screenings organised by the state government.

Each tool consists of N95 face masks, a thermometer, an oximeter, medicine and a saliva test kit.
