SHAH ALAM, May 14 — The Senandung Aidilfitri #KitaSelangor programme which will be screened online tonight is a replacement for the state-level Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House celebrations.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’s Seri Amirudin Shari said due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the open house organised by the state every year had to be cancelled.

“We replaced it with the recording of Senandung Aidilfitri #KitaSelangor, with contents that showcase the uniqueness, culture and life of the people in this state.

"The programme features popular artists, and will be interspersed with songs as well as sketches showing the administration and programmes under the state government," he said in a video post on Facebook.

Therefore, he invites the public to watch the show through the links selangortv.my and www.facebook.com/MediaSelangor at 9pm tonight.

“Celebrating Syawal during the MCO (movement control order) does not mean we cannot enjoy it. We are celebrating under the new norm against the pandemic,” he said.

The 75-minute programme features Aisyah, Najwa Latif, Siti Nordiana, Bunkface, Roy, Azmi Caliph Busker and Ahmad Yassin who has a voice similar to the late Datuk Ahmad Jais.

Celebrities Salleh Yaacob, Raja Azura and Ropie Cecupak will team up as hosts in the programme which will also be broadcasted via SelangorTV's Youtube channel.

Che Puan Juliana Evans will also appear in a sketch on the fate of the low-income group who receive assistance under the state’s Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat (IPR) initiative.

The programme was recorded between April 3 to 10 in Sepang, Gombak and Kuala Selangor.
