SHAH ALAM, May 11 — A ‘Takbir Raya’ (calls to glorify Allah) recorded at the top of the historic site Bukit Malawati, Kuala Selangor will be broadcasted by SelangorTV on its website selangortv.my and Youtube channel.

The recording will be played continuously from Maghrib time at 7.20pm on the last day of Ramadan (May 12) until the morning of Syawal 1 (May 13).

One drone unit and three cameras were used to give the ‘Takbir Raya’ a unique effect and the reciting was led by the State Mosque Imam Abdul Karim Omar accompanied by the Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, state excos and senior government officials.

Megaday Media Sdn Bhd executive producer Azhar Sulaiman said this is the first time a ‘Takbir Raya’ was recorded in such an environment outside the mosque.

“The recording uses the drone to produce movie-like visuals. It is more cinematic, creating a beautiful and more serene atmosphere,” he told Selangorkini recently.

He explained Kuala Selangor was chosen as a location as it records the early history of the Selangor sultanate that began with Sultan Salehuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Daeng Celak.

“The cannons at Bukit Malawati became one of the main props in the filming. If people in the old days used to recite ‘Takbir Raya’ with ‘keris’ (Malay dagger) at their side, this time we put (display) cannons.

"We set up a stage at the top of Bukit Malawati and they recited the ‘Takbir Raya’ while facing the sunset," said the famous artist.

The recording is part of the special Hari Raya programme Senandung Aidilfitri #KitaSelangor which will also be broadcasted on the same platform at 9pm on Syawal 2 (May 14).

The programme will be hosted by Raja Azura, Salih Yaacob and Ropie Cecupak showcasing famous artists such as Siti Nordiana, Najwa Latif, Bunkface and Ahmad Yassin whose voice are similar to the late Datuk Ahmad Jais.

Che Puan Juliana Evans will also act in a sketch on the low-income group (B40) who received the People's Care (Peduli Rakyat) initiative.

Media Selangor Facebook page will also air a repeat broadcast of the programme on Syawal 3 (May 15) at 3pm.
