SHAH ALAM, May 7 — The re-enforcement of movement control order (MCO) in several districts of Selangor aims to break the Covid-19 chain of infection, says state executive councillor for health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.
Therefore, she urged all parties to abide by the ruling for the good of all.
“MCO is indeed troublesome, not only to the public but also for the Selangor government administration, the police… but we need to know, this is done to protect people's lives.
"We enforce (MCO) for a while in order to curb the pandemic and reduce the number of infections," she said in the Ask Anything forum titled ‘MCO Again?’’ that was broadcasted live on her Facebook page today.
The forum was moderated by Selangor Task Force Operation (STFO) director Dr Muhammad Farhan Rusli, with Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) member Dato’ Dr Fadzilah Kamaludin as a panellist.
Starting yesterday until May 17, MCO is implemented in Hulu Langat, Petaling, Gombak, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang districts following the spike in Covid-19 infections in the state.
While Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam districts remain under conditional movement control order (CMCO).
