Mosti to discuss with Covid-19 task force on AstraZeneca vaccine registration issue

KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 — The reason why those who have registered for the AstraZeneca vaccine did not receive notice of appointments is because their identity card did not match the one registered via the MySejahtera application.

Coordinating Minister for National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Khairy Jamaluddin said the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti) would discuss the matter with the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) to resolve the issue.

“Checks found that most of them had a typographical error when keying in their identification number for the AstraZeneca vaccine registration. If the identity card number does not match, we cannot proceed,” he told a press conference after observing the first day of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine administration at the vaccination centre (PPV) at the World Trade Centre (WTC), here today.

However, Khairy, who is also Science, Technology and Innovation Minister said those who had entered their identity card number correctly but still did not receive an appointment notice could send an email to the ministry to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, Khairy said the individuals involved in the AstraZeneca vaccine trial shots three days ago have only experienced fever so far.
