KAJANG, May 2 —Selangor is ready in every aspect should the movement control order (MCO) is enforced again in the state, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said all forms of action was discussed with several parties, including the Selangor State Education Department, the council president and district officers yesterday.

“If (MCO is) implemented, there will be certain effects. How to address the issue of students returning home, what is the format to give opportunities for Ramadan and Raya bazaar traders to continue operating.

"These are among the recommendations that will be raised in the meeting with the Federal government tomorrow," he told media at a key handover ceremony for Rumah SelangorKu Residensi Adelia here today.

Amirudin said several other things will also be touched in the discussion, including the increase in cases recorded this week.

According to him, the discovery of Covid-19 variants will also be raised as there are infections related to Ramadan and Raya bazaars as well as shopping malls.

“We also received indicators from the Health Department regarding the 60 per cent bed utilisation rate in the Intensive Care Unit.

“It is approaching the red zone, which we need to be alert. Most of the referred cases are level three and four,” he said.
