Exco urges public to continue following SOP during CMCO

SHAH ALAM, March 4 — The people are urged to continue complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) even after Selangor’s status  change to the conditional movement control order (CMCO) tomorrow.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the relaxation during the CMCO period must be utilised wisely so that the Covid-19 chain of infection could be broken.

“The relaxation for schooling and working must be utilised with the employers and teachers ensuring their employees and students continue to follow the SOP.

“If there are workplaces that fail to comply with the SOP and follow the guidelines, employees have the right to complain for being in an unsafe environment,” she said.

On March 2, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the movement control order (MCO) status for Selangor, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Johor will be changed to CMCO starting tomorrow until March 18.

Ismail said that the government also allowed inter-district movement within the CMCO areas.
