SHAH ALAM, Feb 23 — The state government’s ability to face the Covid-19 pandemic has been backed up by the efficiency of the Selangor Task Force on Covid-19 (STFC).
Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the agency had recommended a long term approach that includes contact tracing, large-scale screenings as well as emphasising compliance with the standard operating procedure (SOP).
"Among the things that need to be done is to change the attitude about washing hands, wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing, providing contact tracing information and so on.
"Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad (STFC chairman) had from the beginning placed the community as a basis to formulate actions or approaches to be used," he said in an interview in the special edition of ‘Kita Selangor: Gempur Covid-19’ magazine.
The Kita Selangor magazine published by the Menteri Besar’s Office recorded the early moments when the state government faced the Covid-19 pandemic and its development until October last year.
The 64-page magazine noted important events, key personalities and examples of successful programmes that were implemented.
Starting from this week, the magazine is distributed to state assemblymen’s Community Service Centres, health centres, government departments as well as to the public.
Previously, STFC had also launched the Preventing and Detecting Outbreaks at Ignition Sites (POIS) programme to detect Covid-19 cases and reduce workplace clusters without ceasing factory operations.
