Warning notice for all govt agencies following possible website hacking threat — NSC

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 — The National Security Council (NSC) through the National Majlis Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) has issued a warning notice to all government agencies to take the necessary steps to prevent and minimise the impact of possible hacking attempts against their official websites.

The NSC, in a statement here today, said the action was taken following the viral video of a threat to hack government websites posted by ‘Anonymous Malaysia’ recently.

It said NACSA was also working closely with the Royal Malaysia Police to coordinate and take the necessary actions.

“The government views seriously and has always given priority to the security aspects of the government’s information technology infrastructure and the country’s critical systems by emphasising on the actions to strengthen the information technology system, including improving the knowledge and skills of the relevant officials,” it said.

The action is clearly underlined in the Malaysian Cyber Security Strategy launched in October 2020, it added.
