SHAH ALAM, Jan21 — Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says the Kita Selangor Package revealed by Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari yesterday is an example of a government that prioritises its people.
Anwar described the assistance as holistic, especially the aid given to frontliners battling against the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It was intriguing to hear about the several additional packages and is a good example of a holistic action.
“What are the problems that people face? Selangor provides food assistance to frontliners, food baskets to the people, wrote off the Yayasan Selangor study loan along with a few other initiatives,” he said on a live press conference on Facebook yesterday.
The Selangor government had announced the Kita Selangor Package to reduce the people’s burden during the movement control order (MCO) 2.0 through various initiatives.
The plan carries a total value of RM73.877 of financial implication to the state among which includes ramping up efforts to battle the Covid-19 outbreak and stimulating the state’s economy as well as offering support to affected groups.
