RTD, MACC committed to enhancing integrity

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 29 — The Road Transport Department (RTD) and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) are committed to strengthening integrity and transparent governance aspects in the implementation of routine tasks through strategic cooperation between the two departments.

RTD and MACC in a joint statement here today said a framework and close collaboration were developed towards nurturing the culture of high integrity throughout RTD offices.

The matter was decided during a courtesy call by RTD director-general Datuk Zailani Hashim to MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki yesterday.

Zailani said RTD will not compromise with any misconduct involving any of its employees.

According to him, RTD adopts an open-door policy approach with any recommendations from the public towards improving the efficiency of the department in the public service delivery.

Meanwhile, Azam said the MACC welcomed the move and promised to assigned a Certified Integrity Officer (CelO) at the RTD Integrity Department.

"The strategic ties between RTD and MACC have been realised through joint operations such as cloned cars, driving test fraud and others.

"Both parties have also agreed to review the Cooperation Note (RTD-MACC) which was signed in 2017 in supporting efforts to improve and strengthen the working relationship between these two departments," he said.
