SME Bank contribute RM50,000 for Covid-19 frontliners

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 — Small Medium Enterprise Development Bank Malaysia Bhd (SME Bank), through its corporate social responsibility programme (CSR) has contributed RM50,000 to support frontliners via the National Security Council (NSC).

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives deputy minister, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin presented the contribution to National Security (Strategic Security) deputy director-general Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus.

"As a caring and responsible Development Financial Institution, the contribution given is in the form of packed food to frontliners, who are on duty during the movement control order in selected government hospitals nationwide and also agencies under the NSC," Mas Ermieyati said.

SME Bank in a statement today said the CSR would be carried out simultaneously at 26 SME Bank branch networks nationwide on December 16.

Besides providing assistance to the frontliners, SME Bank also conducts the "Penjana Komuniti@SMEBank" programme to assist 20 selected B40 micro-entrepreneurs whose economic activities had been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
