SHAH ALAM, Nov 18 — The Covid-19 transmission within the community in Selangor which shows a surge in cases since October is concerning.

The Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 said a total of 1,478 local cases were recorded out of the total 1,485 new infections registered from November 7 to 13.

“Selangor continues to see an upward trend compared to the 1,109 total new cases registered last week (October 31 to November 6).

“The rise in cases is worrying as the upward trend continues since early October,” it said on a Twitter post last night.

The task force said public adherence to the standard operating procedure (SOP), including social distancing, wearing the face masks and continuously practising good personal hygiene is crucial to bring down the number of infections.

Without the cooperation and responsibility of the public, economic and social activities will continue to be stunted and would affect the daily routines.

“What is more worrying is that the health threat will impact economic growth,” it added.
