SHAH ALAM, Oct 27 — The Selangor Counselling Centre is helping people deal with mental wellbeing during the conditional movement control order (CMCO).
State Public Health, Unity, Women and Family Development Committee chairman Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the counselling services offered can be done via one-to-one meeting or by phone.
"Mental health problems are believed to have increased when the movement control order (MCO) was enforced in March, so there is no denying the possibilities that during the CMCO the same thing will happen.
"Therefore, the public is advised to make use of the facilities provided by the counselling centre.
"At the same time the community must not give any negative impressions if there are people close to them seeking counselling services," said Dr Siti Mariah during a recent online talk show via Facebook titled ‘As Covid-19 Thrives, Stress Increases, What Must We Do?’.

On October 10, Selangor Menteri Besar, Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the issue of mental health is among the state government’s focus to help the people, especially when facing the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said the state government had allocated RM1 million through the Selangor Cares 2.0 stimulus economic package to address the issue via interactive classes.
