SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — As many as 150 Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Selangor today, second highest after Sabah, said Health director general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Dr Noor Hisham said that out of the total cases, 125 came from existing clusters and 13 more were from close contact case screenings.
“Nine screened cases of symptomatic individuals include four cases found to have history of traveling to Sabah while three cases are from other Covid-19 screenings conducted,” he said in a virtual press conference.
Dr Noor Hisham said as many as 50 Covid-19 patients in Selangor have recovered from the disease and have been allowed to be discharged from the hospital.
Overall, 589 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Malaysia, bringing the cumulative total of infections to 18,129.
Three deaths were reported pushing the total fatalities to 170.
