LANGKAWI, Oct 12 — Stage-four brain cancer patient, Alleya Rumaeisyah Abdullah wishes to meet the queen, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
The 13-year-old from Port Klang, who was diagnosed with the disease at the age of three, is on a three-day vacation with her family at a hotel here, under a programme organised by Persatuan Ziarah Sahabat Kanser (PZSK) and Kem Isi Rimba.
“I had fun at the pool, and I got to see beautiful sceneries throughout my three-day stay here. My dream to go to Langkawi has been fulfilled, after this I wish to meet the Raja Permaisuri Agong,” she told reporters.
Her father, Idaruzi Samsudin, 46, and mother, Nor Azizah Said, 44, expressed gratitude to PZSK, Kem Isi Rimba and the hotel for realising their daughter’s wish to visit the island as they could not afford to do so financially.
“During the activities in Langkawi, Alleya had fun cruising in a luxury boat, visited Kota Mahsuri and went on other visits, as well as staying at this luxurious hotel.
“My daughter who is undergoing radiotherapy at Kuala Lumpur Hospital and Sungai Buloh Hospital, is also scheduled to go for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) next month to check on the size of her tumour, which is getting bigger,” he said.
Meanwhile, PZSK chairman Zaki Yahya said Alleya Rumaeisyah was the sixth cancer patient involved in the programme, aimed at fulfilling patients’ dreams, with the cooperation of several other parties.
