SHAH ALAM, Oct 3 — The Health Ministry (MoH) has denied viral news that claimed the movement control order (MCO) will be enforced in Selangor from October 5 to 21.

In a statement today, the MoH Response Team said that the news, which allegedly stated the Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah had announced the matter, is not true.

“The message is strictly false and members of the public are urged not to make viral or share any unverified news,” the statement read.

A screenshot of the false news was recently shared on social media platforms stating that the MCO will be enforced in Selangor.

Malaysia yesterday saw the highest number of daily cases yesterday with 287 infections, bringing the cumulative figure to 11,771, with 1,540 active cases.

The number of new infections in Selangor had also doubled with a total of 31 cases, compared to the 13 cases recorded on Thursday.
