AMPANG, Sept 19 — Developers are urged to complete the East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE) construction project according to schedule to address the issue of traffic congestion in Ukay Perdana and Bukit Antarabangsa.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the project which was supposed to be completed in September last year should be expedited to resolve the concerns of the residents.

"The construction of the highway has faced several problems such as being near the forest reserve and the gazetting of the catchment area, but everything has been settled.

“I hope the developers take note of this and speed up construction. This development is good for the future but requires a little sacrifice from the residents,” said Amirudin at the Lembah Jaya and Bukit Antarabangsa constituencies visit programme (Program Turun Padang) here today.

Amirudin also welcomed the construction of the highway which connects the Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (Silk), Kajang-Seremban Expressway (Lekas), Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Expressway (Akleh) and Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (Duke).

On July 24, 2018, State Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman Ir Izham Hashim said the construction of EKVE will reduce travelling time for users from Ukay Perdana to Sungai Long, Kajang.

The 36.16-kilometer highway cost RM1.51 billion and is expected to be completed next year.
