Another 6,573 police quarters in the pipeline — Bukit Aman

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) plans to build 6,573 more units of police quarters to ease the burden of personnel who are unable to cope with high rentals outside.

Bukit Aman Logistics and Technology department director Comm Datuk Seri Rosli Ab Rahman said construction of the additional units will be privatised under the land swap concept.

He said at present, 1,616 units were being built in stages, adding that PDRM has so far built 63,832 units nationwide dwelled by 55,561 personnel.

"The remaining 8,271 units are undergoing maintenance works," he told reporters in Bukit Aman here yesterday.

On repair and maintenance works on aged PDRM buildings, he said RM100.5 million have been approved for this purpose.
