SHAH ALAM, July 9 — Six new Covid-19 cases were recorded today, pushing the cumulative figure to 8,683. A total of 63 patients are currently in treatment for the virus.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the daily registered cases were all imported infections, making it the third day in a row that no local transmission was recorded.
The six new cases include five Malaysians and one foreign citizen, in which three had travelled from Indonesia, two from Singapore and one from Egypt.
“Thirteen patients have recovered and discharged today, which brings the total recoveries to 8,499, or a 97.8 per cent recovery rate.
“Two patients are currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit, with one of them requiring respiratory aid,” Dr Noor Hisham said in a statement today.
No fatalities were reported today, keeping the death toll at 121 cases for 25 consecutive days.
