SHAH ALAM, July 8 — The number of daily cases in Malaysia sees a drop with three new Covid-19 infections registered as of noon today, all involving Malaysians travelling home from abroad.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said no local transmission was recorded today.
The cumulative number of cases in the country now stands at 8,677 with 70 active Covid-19 cases recorded.
“Five patients have recovered and discharged today, which brings the total recoveries to 8,486, or a 97.8 per cent recovery rate.
“Two patients are currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit, with one of them requiring respiratory aid,” he said at a press conference on the Covid-19 situation at the Health Ministry in Putrajaya, today.
No fatalities were reported today, keeping the death toll at 121 cases for 24 consecutive days.
