SHAH ALAM, June 24 — The Selangor State Health Department personnel will oversee the operations in schools and their compliance with the recovery movement control order (RMCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs), following the reopening of secondary schools across the country today.

Its director Datuk Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman said this includes conducting body temperature checks before allowing entry and compliance with social-distancing norms.

“We will also monitor the packaging of food sold at the school canteens as to whether it follows the stipulated guidelines. The cheks will also be carried out in the manufacturing sector,” he told SelangorKini today.

Schools have reopened today after almost three months closure since March 18 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A total of 500,444 students who are sitting for their 2020 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Vokasional Malaysia (SVM), Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) and Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) examinations and equivalent examinations from 2,440 secondary schools across Malaysia have returned back to school to catch up on their studies.
