SHAH ALAM, May 22 — Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has been placed under a 14-day quarantine after a government officer attending the post-Cabinet meeting on Wednesday was infected with Covid-19.

The Prime Minister's Office in a statement today said Muhyiddin had already been screened and was tested negative for the coronavirus.

“However, in accordance with the Control and Observation Order for Covid-19 Contacts, Section 15(1) of Act 342, the prime minister has to undergo the 14-day quarantine beginning this evening.

“All those who had attended the meeting have been ordered to be screened and quarantined at their homes for 14 days as well beginning today,” the statement read.

“To note, every meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office practices social distancing and stringent health care at all times.”
