SHAH ALAM, May 20 — Selangor is now free of Covid-19 red zones after the Petaling district was declared a yellow zone by the Selangor State Health Department yesterday.

The number of active Covid-19 cases in Petaling has dropped to 29 from 50 on Monday.

The Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 said the Hulu Bernama and Hulu Yam townships are also free of Covid-19 active cases and are now classified green zones, which makes a total of 32 townships in the state to be green.

“Selangor is now free of red zones. Congratulations to the people of Selangor for being disciplined!

“Selangor citizens are reminded against interstate travels to go ‘balik kampung’. Celebrating Hari Raya at home is safer for the elderly and the community,” the task force wrote on Facebook last night.

“Utilise the technology to stay connected during the festive season.”

As of noon yesterday, Selangor recorded six new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total figure to 1,650 out of the cumulative 6,978 cases recorded in Malaysia.

The death toll in the state remains at 21 as no deaths were reported in the past week.
