SHAH ALAM, May 10 — The total number of patients that have fully recovered from Covid-19 has exceeded the 5,000-mark following the 96 recoveries recorded today.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said a total of 5,025 patients have recovered from the coronavirus, which translates to a 75 per cent recovery rate.
“As of noon today, 67 new confirmed Covid-19 cases were recorded, where 49 involve foreigners.
“This pushes the total accumulated number to 6,656 with 1,525 active Covid-19 cases,” said Dr Noor Hisham during a press conference on the Covid-19 at the Health Ministry in Putrajaya, today.
He said no fatality was reported and the death toll remains at 108, or 1.62 per cent out of the total cases.
Dr Noor Hisham had today returned back for the daily briefing after taking a day off yesterday and had taken the opportunity to wish the Muslims across Malaysia a blessed Nuzul al-Quran.
He had also expressed his appreciation to all mothers in the country in conjunction with Mother’s Day today.
