SHAH ALAM, May 6 — A total of 135 Covid-19 recoveries was recorded as of noon today, which is triple that of the 45 new confirmed cases.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham said this pushes the total recoveries to 4,702 or translated to 73.15 per cent.

He said the total accumulated cases in Malaysia is 6,428 with 1,619 active cases.

"Out of the total new cases, one is an imported case whereas the remaining 44 are local infections. One case was traced from the cluster and locality placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO),” he said during a press conference on the Covid-19 update at the Health Ministry in Putrajaya today.

Dr Noor Hisham said a total of 22 patients are still being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and nine of them requiring respiratory support.

He added another death was reported today, bringing the total fatalities to 107.

"The 107th death (case number 2,380) involved a 51-year-old Malaysian man who had history of diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney disease. He was treated at Sungai Buloh Hospital on April 22 and was declared dead yesterday at 2.53pm."
