Areas surrounding Selayang market placed under EMCO, says minister

SHAH ALAM, April 20 — The Federal government has enforced the sixth enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in Northern Kuala Lumpur and areas around the Selayang wholesale market (Pasar Borong Selayang).

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the enhanced order begins today until May 3.

Eight roads in the area that are placed under the EMCO are:

  • Jalan 6/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara Kuala Lumpur
  • Jalan 6/3A dan 9/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur
  • Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur
  • Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur
  • Taman Sri Murni Fasa 2, Jalan 1/2D, Kuala Lumpur
  • Taman Sri Murni Fasa 1, Jalan 1/2D, Kuala Lumpur
  • Taman Sri Murni Fasa 3, Jalan 1/2B, Kuala Lumpur
  • Taman Batu View dan Taman Batu Hampar, Kuala Lumpur

"All residents in the affected areas are requested to remain calm and fully cooperate with Health Ministry personnel and comply with the instructions by the relevant authorities," Ismail Sabri told a press conference after the Special Ministerial Committee on MCO meeting in Putrajaya today.

The minister for security cluster said that the EMCO was enforced to curb the spread of Covid-19 and to ensure early detection of the infection.

Residents requiring assistance or have inquiries can call the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) EMCO operations room at 03-4026 7222 or Sentul district police headquarters operations room at 03-4048 2212.

Five other locations under the enhanced order are Simpang Renggam in Johor, Hulu Langat in Selangor, and several areas in Kuala Lumpur, namely the Menara CityOne on Jalan Munshi Abdullah apartment, Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion buildings and the surrounding areas around Jalan Masjid India.
