KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 — The following is the night update from the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (MCMC) Quick Response Team on countering fake news on Covid-19 on social media.
1. Johor Bahru's Sultan Ismail Hospital director denies allegations that the hospital has almost run out of personal protection equipment’ (PPE), instead clarified that the Health Ministry and the hospital's management were constantly making efforts to ensure sufficient stocks of PPE to continue serving patients.
2. Sarawak Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas denies that the state government will be declaring a three-day lockdown.
The denial is in refuting the circulation of a notice titled "3 Days Total Lockdown Challenge, Sarawak, 17th, 18th & 19th April, 2020".
