SHAH ALAM, April 9 — The system formulated by the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 to identify the hotspots in the state has been adopted by other countries, says the Selangor Menteri Besar.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the system in place, which was devised by Dr Helmi Zakariah, can also be used to analyse the dengue outbreak.

“It is quite fortunate that this data system is being utilised by other countries as well and from there, the state government had begun the initiative to do mass Covid-19 screening soon,” he said during an interview aired on TV3's morning talkshow Malaysia Hari Ini, today.

Beginning tomorrow, STFC will initiate a large-scale screening for Covid-19 at several identified locations.

The state is aiming between 1,000 to 1,200 checks to be conducted as the cases in Selangor continue to climb in number.

STFC is headed by former health minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad and six other members, aiming to help the Health Ministry in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.
