SHAH ALAM, April 7 — The Federal government has announced today an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in the Selangor Mansion and Malayan flats, located at Jalan Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur, after 15 positive cases were identified at the two buildings.

The two-week EMCO effective today will affect 365 residential units and business premises in the buildings, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.

“The EMCO is effective April 7, 2020, until the identification process of Covid-19 cases in all of the units is completed, which means during the 14 days, a mandatory screening process will be carried out.

“As for the standard operating procedure, residents have to remain at their respective units and visitors are not allowed in the buildings,” he told a press conference in Putrajaya today.

The two flats are the fourth area enforced under the enhanced order, after the Menara City One condominium, on March 31, following 17 positive cases of Covid-19 was recorded.

On March 30, seven villages in Hulu Langat in Selangor was placed under lockdown after recording 71 positive cases among 274 residents of a tahfiz school there.

Two areas in Simpang Renggam in Johor were the first location place under the EMCO on March 27 after 61 positive cases were identified out of 83 in the Kluang district.
