MB: Three water treatment plants resume operation

SHAH ALAM, March 27 — Three water treatment plants in Selangor that had temporarily closed earlier today due to oil pollution in the raw water source, has resumed operations, says Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

“I have been informed by Air Selangor that all the (Sungai Selangor) Water Treatment Plant Phase 1, 2 and 3, which had stopped operating earlier this morning, has resumed its full operation,” he said on his official Twitter account today.

Earlier today, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) had in a statement said the three Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1, 2 and 3 (LRA SSP1, LRA SSP2 and LRA SSP3) had to temporarily suspend its operations at 9.40 am today.

This was following the detection of oil pollution at the source of raw water in Sungai Selangor at 9.30 am.

No consumers were affected by the temporary closure of the water treatment plants.
