KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 — A total of 117 new Covid-19 cases were reported as at noon today, bringing cumulative cases in the country to 790, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said.
A total of 11 patients have recovered and were discharged today.
He said out of the total new cases, 80 were linked to the tabligh religious gathering.
"To date, a total of 15 care are in the intensive care unit (ICU) and requiring ventilator support.
"Following the announcement on the movement control order by the Prime Minister on March 16, all states and Federal Territories has been gazetted as a local area of infection. This is in line with the provisions under Section 11 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342)," he said in a statement today.
As of today, a total of 60 patients have been discharged.
Yesterday, Malaysia reported its first two deaths caused by Covid-19.
