SHAH ALAM, March 17 — Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba has announced that two Covid-19 patients have died while the number of cases rises.
The first patient is identified as a 34-year-old man who attended the Sri Petaling Mosque Tabligh convention at the end of February.
"This patient displayed symptoms on March 5 and was treated at Hospital Permai l in Johor Bahru. He was placed under intensive care on March 12," he said in a press conference in Putrajaya today.
The second case is a 60-year-old pastor who died in Sarawak General Hospital.
According to Dr Adham, the second patient started showing symptoms on March 7 and began treatment at the Sarawak general hospital on March 14.
Both patients passed away today.
As of today, Dr Adham said 120 new cases have been reported, bringing the total to 673.
Of this, 95 cases were traced to the cluster of infection from a tabligh gathering at the Sri Petaling Mosque in Kuala Lumpur.
Yesterday, Malaysia recorded 125 news cases and 190 cases the day before.
He added that 12 patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU) and require ventilation support.
