Singapore reports two more Covid-19 cases

SINGAPORE, Feb 27 — Singapore reported two new cases of Covid-19 infection, bringing the number of positive cases in the republic to 93 as of yesterday.

In a statement here, the Ministry of Health said both were Singapore citizens who had no recent travel history to China.

According to the ministry, four more cases of Covid-19 were discharged from hospital today, bringing to 62 the number who have fully recovered.

Among them were the private hospital doctor who was confirmed to have contracted the virus on February 13 and a Bangladeshi national who works at the Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site, one of the identified Covid-19 clusters here.

Of the 31 confirmed cases still in hospital, MOH said most were stable or improving while seven are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

As at noon, MOH has identified 2,848 close contacts who have been quarantined whereby 2,589 have completed their quarantine and 259 are currently quarantined.

So far, eight positive cases are linked to The Life Church and Missions Singapore cluster, 23 cases to the Grace Assembly of God, nine to medical shop Yong Thai Hang, three to a private business meeting held at Grand Hyatt Singapore, and five to the Seletar construction site.
