KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19 — A couple from China who tested positive for Covid-19, had been discharged from a hospital yesterday, bringing the total number of fully recovered patients in the country to 13.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the couple, aged 52 and 49, had been treated at Permai Hospital, Johor Bahru, and two consecutive retests conducted on them had shown negative results for Covid-19.
"Case seven was admitted on January 27 and condition worsened due to severe Hypoxia on day three of admission.
"On day nine of treatment he showed remarkable improvement weaning on the oxygen requirement until he was tested twice negative for Covid-19 and discharged today (Tuesday)," he said in a posting on his official Facebook page yesterday.
With the latest full recovery cases, Dr Noor Hisham said all Covid-19 positive cases treated at the hospital had recovered and were allowed to return home.
The couple was the seventh (husband) and eighth (wife) cases who were tested positive for Covid-19 on January 28 and January 30 respectively.
Earlier yesterday afternoon, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly told a news conference that two positive cases - the 11th and 12th cases - treated at Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban, were allowed to return home yesterday.
He said the two were among 107 Malaysians and their family members who were evacuated from Wuhan, China on February 4 and they had been allowed to leave the home surveillance centre in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan yesterday after they completed their 14-day quarantine process.
