KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 — Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo today called on local radio broadcasting industry to promote diversity and to help build a peaceful and inclusive society in Malaysia.
He said the move is in line with World Radio Day 2020 celebration, themed Radio and Diversity.
“Radio is close to the hearts of the listeners. The responsibility of the radio broadcasting industry in disseminating information on national agenda and in promoting national unity is very important,” he posted on his official Facebook page.
Gobind also said that it is the responsibility of the government to support UNESCO’s efforts to promote radio broadcasting and to celebrate the diversity in the industry.
“Happy World Radio Day,” he added.
