SUBANG JAYA, Jan 21 — The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ)’s Smart Gen programme has achieved its objective by producing two environmental ambassadors among school students.

MPSJ president Noraini Roslan said environmental education should be taught in schools as it is very important for students to learn on environmental awareness.

"Just like the proverb, education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. We would not want our kids to have good values only in schools, but to also practice it in their daily lives," she said.

Noraini was speaking to the members of the press after presenting the Sekolah Sejahtera Awards and officiating MPSJ Smart Gen 2020 program in Sunway University here today.

She said a sum of RM22,800 has been allocated for the winners where 61 out of 79 primary and secondary schools participated in the 2019's MPSJ Smart Gen programme.
