KAZAKHSTAN, Dec 27 — A passenger plane with 100 on board has crashed just after take off from Almaty airport in Kazakhstan.

Mirror UK reported at least seven people were confirmed dead.

Bek Air flight 2100 flight disappeared from radar at 7.05am local time.

Pictures show wreckage strewn across land near the former capital, while video footage shows houses ruined with sections of the plane strewn across the landscape.

Rescue personnel were seen combing the scene.

The plane was carrying 95 passengers and five crew members.

According to preliminary reports, there are survivors of the crash with emergency services on the site.

A statement from the Kazakh ministry said the plane "lost height" at 7.22am and crashed during takeoff before crashing into a concrete fence and then a two-storey building.

The plane was en route from Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city, to the country's capital of Nursultan.

Other reports have claimed that the flight hit a two-storey building shortly after take off.
