SHAH ALAM, Dec 10 — Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari today expressed his condolences for the passing of Datuk Wan Ismail Wan Mahmood, father of Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, earlier this morning.
Amirudin had also extended his condolences to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“May Almarhum Datuk Wan Ismail Wan Mahmood’s soul is blessed and be placed among the righteous in the highest place in paradise,” Amirudin said on Twitter.
Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali had also expressed his sadness upon receiving the news of the passing of Wan Ismail.
“My condolences to the family and may his soul be blessed and placed in the highest place in paradise,” he wrote on Twitter.
Wan Ismail passed earlier today at 2.30am at his residence in Ampang here.
According to a posting on Dr Wan Azizah’s Facebook, his remains will be taken to Masjid al Mustaqim at Taman Nirwana, Ampang at about 9am for the funeral prayers before proceeding to the Ukay Perdana Muslim Cemetery for the burial.
