KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 — Several areas in Perak, Kedah and Selangor are still flooded, with 1,358 people from 398 families still at temporary flood relief centres (PPS) as of 8 am today.
In PERAK, the number of flood evacuees in the Kerian district increased to 277 people (68 families) this morning, from 188 people (48 families).
According to a spokesman at the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, 149 of them, involving 35 families, are being accommodated at the PPS in Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Changkat Lobak, while 128 people (33 families) are at the PPS in SK Parit Haji Aman.
They were among 585 people from 153 families who have been evacuated to four PPS this morning, he said in a statement today.
The PPS in SK Changkat Jong, Hilir Perak, is accommodating 231 people from 66 families, while 77 are at Sekolah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai in Manjung.
In KEDAH, the number of flood victims remained at 104 people from 32 families.

Pendang District Officer Syed Khairol Anuar Syed Abidin, who is also the district disaster management chairman, said the flood situation is improving, although it still rains.
"The water level in Sungai Pendang is receding and now at 2.49 metres, which is the alert level, from the warning level of 2.6 metres yesterday,” he added.
A Bernama look at several areas affected by the floods found all roads are now open to traffic. Some of the villagers are also seen cleaning their houses and the compound of debris left by the floods.
In SELANGOR, the number of flood evacuees has dropped to 669 people today, from 678 yesterday, and are staying at three relief centres.
A spokesperson at the Smart Selangor Command Center said 603 of the evacuees, from 167 families, are at SK Parit Mahang, and the others are at S.K Ijok (62 people from 45 families) and Balai JKKK Matang Pagar, Gombak (a family of four).
He said the relief centres at S.K Jaya Setia and S.K Pasangan were closed yesterday when all the evacuees returned home.
Meanwhile, in Johor, Penang and Perlis, the situation is back to normal and all the flood relief centres have been closed.
