PKNS donates laptops, LCD projectors to 44 religious schools

SHAH ALAM, Oct 19 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) yesterday donated laptop and LCD projector to 44 religious primary schools (SRA) under the supervision of the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS).

The donation totalling RM198,000 for selected schools in Sepang, Hulu Langat and Kuala Langat was presented by PKNS chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain to JAIS director Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad.

According to Mohd Azizi, the contribution from the PKNS tithe allocation was part of its corporate social responsibility to help smoothen the learning processes in the religious schools.

“The schools were selected by JAIS according to their needs. Each school will receive one set of laptop and LCD projector worth RM4,500. The collaboration with JAIS has started since 2013.

"PKNS believes that with this kind of assistance, it can produce excellent students and successful generation," he told reporters after handing over the contribution here yesterday.

Meanwhile, PKNS in a statement said that since 2013, it had remained committed to its corporate social responsibility in contributing to the community through various programmes.

Among the contributions were the repair of the JAIS education complex in Bagan Terap, Sabak Bernam worth RM100,000; the handing over of mobile speakers worth RM229,928 to 99 selected schools nationwide; education aid (RM165,673); the construction of the Quran and Fardu Ain (KAFA) classes in Taman Desa Kemandul, Jenjarom (RM150,000) and the handing over of speakers to JAIS supervised schools (RM269,546).
