SHAH ALAM - The coastal state of Selangor is reportedly under control following the high tide phenomenon that has occurred since 1 Sept.

The Selangor Disaster Management Unit said in a statement that their monitoring had found no water over fort as of 9.30 am on 2 Sept.

“The results of the monitoring and information received by the security agency was a reading of Port Klang High Tide Table 5.5 meters at 8.02 am this morning," the statement stated.

"However, the situation was reported as good, safe and sunny while the forts along the coast were solid."

Previously, the Klang, Kuala Langat, Sepang, Kuala Selangor and Sabak Bernam districts were now in high preparation for the high tide phenomenon due to high risk of flooding in the event of strong winds and heavy rains.

The phenomenon of high tide is expected from 1 to 2 September, 29 September to 2 October and 27 October to 30 October, off the coast of Selangor, with sea levels expected to reach 5.7 meters.

Accordingly, various relevant agencies including the Local Authority in the state have also been alerted to deal with the phenomenon of high tide.
