
SUBANG - Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari congratulated Invest Selangor Berhad (Invest Selangor) on its 20th anniversary that has left the company with a record of outstanding performances.
He said Invest Selangor had achieved historic success since last year's state investment performance.
“Well done for 20 years Invest Selangor. The success of the investment performance is not only above the target but is also the highest record for the last 30 years," said Amirudin.
"I hope Invest Selangor will further enhance its efforts to attract investment to the state and hopefully will work closely with the media in promoting investment-related activities," he added.
He said this when speaking at the Media Invest Selangor Berhad 2019 Awards Night at the Grand Dorsett Subang Hotel last night.
Also present were exco of Investment, Industrial and Small and Medium Industries (SME) Trade, Dato' Teng Chang Khim and Invest Selangor Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dato' Hasan Azhari Idris.
Also present were nearly 200 media practitioners including from Selangor Media, Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), BERNAMA, Daily News, Metro Daily, Utusan Malaysia, Nanyang, The Star and The Sun.
Invest Selangor, formerly known as SSIC Berhad, is a wholly-owned state government agency responsible for facilitating investment-related matters, providing information and advisory services in the state for existing and potential investments.
Amirudin said Selangor is always the top choice for investors in terms of placement of their investment projects.
"This is when the state reaffirmed its position as a major economic generator as the state's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 6.8 per cent to RM 323 billion last year, contributing to 23.7 per cent of the country's GDP," he said.
